Would you and your students like to exchange e-mail with classrooms around the world? This fall, The Wild Ones will compile a list of all member classrooms that wish to participate in such an exchange.
Of course we hope classrooms will discuss issues of endangered animals as part of their correspondence, but it is not a requirement. Last spring a triad of member schools piloted such an exchange to share cultural and environmental descriptions.
If you are interested in participating in an e-mail pen-pals program, send us an e-mail with the subject "pen-pals". In the body of the message give your school's name, city, state, and country, the age of the students, and your e-mail address. Also include a brief account of the issues you might like to discuss. This might include curriculum themes, projects, or other areas of potential mutual interest. A list will be compiled from all the addresses received and sent by e-mail to all member classes that respond.
Be sure to let The Wild Ones know about any interesting exchanges or collaborations that develop though the correspondence. Any material that your class feels is appropriate to share can be added to your web page.
Submit your own curriculum plans or resource suggestions to The Wild Ones for publication.
