This page is an index to articles about many of the animals that The Wild Ones parent organization WPTI works with. Each article describes the animal, its habits, habitat, threats to survival, and the work being done on the animals behalf. Where possible you will also find an e-mail link to a conservation biologist working with that species.

The vertebrates are animals with a spinal cord protected by a backbone.
Birds are warm blooded animals. Their bodies are covered with feathers and they lay eggs.
Herps are reptiles and amphibians. Reptiles have bodies that are covered with dry scales, are cold-blooded, and lay leathery eggs. Amphibians have thin, moist skin, are cold-blooded, and require water for reproduction because their eggs are only covered by a "jelly-like" substance.Learn more about herps...
Humans are mammals, and like humans, mammals are warm-blooded, have hair on their bodies, give birth to live young and nurse their young when they are born.
