Sense of Place

More and more, conservationists are met with the conflict of conserving biodiversity without affecting human interests in an area. The idea of preserving areas for protection of biodiversity is good, but not enough! Most protected areas in the world also support people.

The way in which we relate to our own Bioscape is our "Sense of Place". Our "Sense of Place" is the way we perceive our Bioscape, how we feel about it emotionally, how we use it, and what we know about it. Our "Sense of Place is also how we feel that we "belong" to a particular landscape... We are part of it, and it is part of who we are.
